What type of VR sessions do you provide for events?

Our go-to format is to provide a VR experience where 16 people at a time enter the same VR scene for a 5-10 minute slot. We can provide VR scenes on practically anything, examples include: space, nature, wildlife, history, science and landmarks.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you cannot find the answer to your question below, please email us!

What does a typical VR workshop at an event look like?

To get the most value-for-money, most schools opt for 5 VR sessions during the day. Each VR session accommodates up to 32 children and each session can be on a different theme e.g. 5 sessions could be: Romans, Maya, Oceans, The Human Body and the Stone-Age.

For a one form entry school, we can therefore deliver sessions from Y2-Y6.

How many hours can the VR experience run for?

Our VR facilitator will arrive at the event site 90 minutes before the intended start-time to set up the equipment and make sure everything is ready to go.

Taking our standard event format as the example, we would run VR sessions with attendees for 90 minutes. We would then need to charge the headsets for 60 minutes. We then run another 90-minute session.

What would you need from the event organiser?

We need 16 chairs to seat everyone.

We need one 6ft trestle table (or equivalent).

We need access to power.

We need to operate indoors or within a suitable outside structure that keeps out the elements.

How does a VR session work?

We take 16 VR headsets into a school so we can accommodate a maximum of 32 children at a time by sharing the headsets one between two. Whilst their partner is in the virtual reality world, the other partner will be asking them questions about what they can see and recording the answers using our purpose-made worksheets.

Is there anything we need to do before having a VR workshop?

Yes. You will need to get parental consent for every child taking part. We will send you a parental consent form that you can send to parents.

Before the day, you will need to watch the Health and Safety video with your class.
